The New Chief Rabbi Elect

A meeting was arranged on Sunday 13 January at Hallam Street Synagogue in order that the first tranche of personnel who set the scene as to what was required for the next Chief Rabbi, could actually meet the person who had been chosen. A large crowd of interested participants attended from the provinces, representatives from small and large synagogues, and other diverse establishments.

St Albans United Synagogue Welcomes New Rabbinic Couple

St Albans United Synagogue has this week announced the appointment of a new part time Rabbinic Couple, Rabbi Elimelech and Rebbetzen Rachele Vanzetta. The couple have many plans to engage with all the current members of the community and in turn attract new members. St Albans was voted in as a constituent member of the United Synagogue in 2011.

Spend Summer 2013 with Tribe

Tribe to recruit its first Tribe Rabbi

Tribe, the Young United Synagogue has announced that it is to recruit for its first full-time internal Tribe Rabbi. Over the past decade Tribe has been strategically led by Rabbi Andrew Shaw. Rabbi Shaw has throughout his tenure as the part-time Tribe Executive Director also played a central role in the Stanmore and Canons Park rabbinical team, where he continues to serve as their Community Development Rabbi.

Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis to be appointed 11th Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the UK and the Commonwealth

Rabbi Mirvis to succeed Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks in September 2013 The Chief Rabbinate Trust has today confirmed the appointment of Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, as the 11th Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the UK and the Commonwealth. He will assume office when Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks steps down in September 2013.
