Over 150 Teens Take Part in Tribe Football Frenzy

Last Sunday, over 150 boys from fifteen different United Synagogue communities participated in Tribe’s annual Football Frenzy tournament. Split into two groups, years 7 and 8 competed in one tournament and years 9 and 10 in a second.

With the weather holding up beautifully, the standard of play was very high and a number of matches had to be decided on penalties. 

After the initial group stages, the teams progressed to knockout rounds. The eventual winner for the years 7-8 tournament was Mill Hill who beat Edgware 2–0 and in the years 9-10 tournament, Hampstead Garden Suburb beat Hendon 5–0.

Hugo Davidson, Manager of the victorious HGSS team in the years 9-10 tournament said:

“We won every match without conceding any goals on the way to the final. We stuck to our Italian style of football and it paid off. Thanks to Tribe for organising such a great tournament.”

Jake, Goal Keeper for HGSS, winners of the years 9-10 tournament added:

“It was amazing to come through the Tribe Football Frenzy tournament and win. The whole HGSS team played really well together and we can’t wait to come back to defend our title next year!”

Jack from the winning Mill Hill Team in the years 7-8 tournament and winner of the Golden Boot with 12 goals scored said:

“Tribe Football Frenzy was a really good tournament. We (Mill Hill) outplayed everyone and thanks to the great play by my team I was able to score 12 goals to win the Golden Boot as well! A perfect day!”

Danny Fenton, Manager of Mill Hill in the years 7-8 tournament added:

“I am really proud of the team. It was a tough competition but we managed to play well and win every match. Everyone played their part and I am delighted to have won the Tribe Football Frenzy tournament. We are looking forward to coming back next year.”
