CX Diary: Week Ending 8/9/2012
This week was dominated by the Chief Rabbi’s pre-Yomim Noraim Conference held at St Johns Wood Shul. All of the Rabbis under the authority of the Chief Rabbi are invited to attend two days of learning and networking and it is an opportunity for us as professionals to spend quality time with the whole of the Rabbinate.

Life moves on, and certainly the United Synagogue world keeps turning. Following my shiva period I have returned to the office and found that my wonderful team has ensured everything has been under control. In fact I suspect I was hardly missed!

I am really sorry I haven’t been able to keep you all up to date with my diary this past week or so, but tragedy hit my family on Monday 13th August, when my brother Stephen passed away totally unexpectedly in Cannes whilst on holiday.

Sidney Frosh was probably widely known for having been President of the United Synagogue - a position in which he served from 1987 to 1992. There will be few left who will recollect the enormous service he gave to child welfare through his work with Norwood Child Care in the 1950s and 1960s and the changes he wrought to the Jewish day school system over a thirty year period.
