Tomor Chemdoh had been learning the story of Avigayil, her namesake, with her father, during the past year and spoke about lessons which can be learnt from her interaction with King David, as well as sharing a devar Torah on the week’s parshah. Her speech can be found here
Professor Chain spoke about the potential difficulties of growing up in a rabbinic household where the boundaries between work and home are blurred and praised Tomor Chemdoh for coping admirably with this. Tomor Chemdoh has a twin brother, Dovid Chaim, and Rebbetzin Vicki Belovski gave some humorous insights into their early days, before giving her daughter a blessing based on commentators’ observations on a verse in Psalms containing her name “Tzaddik katamar yifrach, ki’erez baLevanon yisgeh – The righteous shall flourish like the date palm, he will grow like a cedar in Lebanon.”
Rabbi Belovski wound up the proceedings by speaking about Tomor Chemdoh’s unique personality and the importance of individuality, whilst still remaining strongly rooted in a Torah framework.
